A gear chain consists of a series of toothed link plates and guide plates alternately assembled, connected by hinges or combined hinge elements, with adjacent pitch sections being hinged joints.
Depending on the guiding type, it can be classified as: externally guided gear chain, internally guided gear chain, and double internally guided gear chain. The gear chain is also known as a silent chain and is one form of transmission chain.
The gear chain is an important mechanical component widely used, primarily in high-speed, heavy-load, low-noise, and large-center-distance applications. Its transmission performance surpasses that of belt drives, gear drives, and roller chain drives, making it a preferred choice for many industries. In terms of engagement, it can be divided into internally engaged gear chains, externally engaged gear chains, and internally and externally engaged compound gear chains. Among these, the internally and externally engaged compound gear chains have lower noise levels and are widely applied.
Advantages of Toothed Chains: 1. Low Noise The toothed chain transmits power through the engagement of the involute-shaped teeth between the working link plates and the sprocket teeth.
